World Occupational Therapy Day 2025 was not designed as a one-way public education event. It was a living, breathing community moment where people could touch, try, ask and understand how occupational therapy supports everyday life.

Held at a shopping mall in Tsuen Wan, the event brought occupational therapy into a familiar public space through interactive booths, professional exhibitions, rehabilitation stories, performances and service-user sharing. From elderly home safety and fall prevention to paediatric sensory integration, community rehabilitation and mental health recovery, the event translated professional knowledge into experiences that families, carers and members of the public could immediately relate to.

For the second consecutive year, Nekoshima Studio Limited supported the Hong Kong Occupational Therapy Association with end-to-end event management, photography, video production and media engagement. Our role was to help shape the day not only as an event, but as a public-facing communication platform, connecting frontline healthcare practice with broader policy conversations around primary healthcare, community rehabilitation and the future collaboration between Chinese medicine and occupational therapy.

Through media coverage and on-site storytelling, the project helped amplify HKOTA’s professional voice and present occupational therapy as an essential part of a more preventive, community-based healthcare ecosystem.
